Project 6.2 IMPLEMENTATION

Seafood traceability to ensure consumer confidence: IMPLEMENTATION

Major achievements in 2007

The testing of data capture equipment has mainly been focussing on RFID technology. There has been an intensive testing of several RFID tags and 100 % read rates have been acheived. Test with integrated sensors have been started and the technical development is promising. Testing of imbedded RFID tags in new fishboxes have been delayed. The “Manual for testing traceability” has, together with the other traceability related outputs from SEAFOODplus been incorporated in the TraceFood Framework. All the TraceFix process mapping M (in the herring chain, the tuna chain, and the salmon chain) was according to the standard method, and the final and collated version of the analysis and recommendations for the 3 chains was completed and published in June 2007.
