PEOPLE IN PROJECT 3.4 BIOCOM

Project leader is Dr. Paw Dalgaard from the Microbiology Group at DTU Aqua. The group has participated in a series of EU projects concerning the effect of microbiology on safety and spoilage of seafoods. Dr. Dalgaard has published extensively and is a member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Food Microbiology. He is internationally known for the development and validation of mathematical models to predict microbial growth and shelf-life of seafood as well as for development and distribution of the Seafood Spoilage and Safety Predictor software. At present Paw Dalgaard manages several projects on microbial activity in seafood.

Key person in BIOCOM:

Ib Krog Larsen from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration is a Chemical engineer in The Section of Food Additives. He is leader of the section in the Regional Veterinary and Food Control Authority København og Nordøstsjælland and has special expertise in analysis of Food Additives, histamine and other biogenic amines in foods. He has considerable experience in analyses of products involved in outbreaks of food-borne disease and has participated in international inter-laboratory studies of biogenic amines in foods.
